Guillermo Baquero is a Professor of Management Practice at the European School of Management and Technology (ESMT). He has served as the faculty lead of the Master in Global Management Program (2024) and the Master in Management Program (2014–2024). He joined ESMT in 2007 as an affiliate scholar part-time and transitioned to full-time faculty in 2008, advancing to Associate Professor in 2011.

His research focuses on hedge fund and mutual fund persistence, investor-manager strategic interactions under asymmetric incentives, and divergent time preferences in investing. He has taught Corporate Finance, International Finance, and Data Analysis at ESMT, along with courses at Rotterdam School of Management and FLACSO-Ecuador.
Awards: Recognized with the 2006 European Finance Association's Best Paper Award for research on hedge funds.
