Grzegorz Janusz

Grzegorz Janusz is a professor at the University of Maria Curie-Skłodowska (UMCS), Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology. His research focuses on fungal biotechnology, enzymology, and lignin degradation mechanisms.

• Current projects include fungal auxiliary enzymes in lignin decomposition (2024-2025, Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange, Polish Team Leader)
• Previously led studies on light influence on fungal metabolism (2015-2019) and characterized novel enzymes like oxalate oxidase (2015-2018)

His work spans transcriptomic analyses of fungal adaptation to environmental stressors, enzymatic bioremediation, and biogas yield enhancement. He has collaborated extensively with Polish institutions on lignocellulose degradation and mycoparasitism.

Scientific contributions include 51 publications, 2 patents, and an h-index of 21 (Google Scholar). He leads interdisciplinary projects funded by Poland's National Centre of Science and NCBiR.
