Professor Greig de Zubicaray is a faculty member at Queensland University of Technology's School of Psychology & Counselling within the Faculty of Health. He holds the academic rank of Professor and specializes in the neurobiology of language, cognitive neuroscience, and neuroimaging techniques. His research investigates neural mechanisms underlying language processing, effects of brain tumors/stroke on language, and genomic influences on speech production. He has led significant grants including ARC Discovery Projects and NHMRC grants focusing on aphasia, speech production, and neurodevelopmental studies.
- Education: PhD (University of Queensland), Master of Clinical Psychology, Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology
- Research Focus: Language recovery post-brain injury, speech production neural pathways, genetic influences on brain structure
Professor de Zubicaray has published over 300 peer-reviewed articles, with recent work emphasizing genetics-brain structure links, speech perception mechanisms, and semantic processing. He currently supervises Honours, Masters, and PhD students in psycholinguistics and neurobiology of language.
Key collaborations include studies on cerebral cortical morphometry variations, longitudinal adolescent brain imaging (QTAB Project), and interdisciplinary semantic framework development.
