معرفی
Gregory Richards is an Associate Professor in the Biological Sciences Department at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. He specializes in microbiology, molecular biology, and microbial genetics, with a focus on bacterial stress responses and symbiotic relationships. Dr. Richards earned his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2008. He teaches courses such as BIOS 101 (Bioscience), BIOS 202 (General Microbiology), and BIOS 411 (Microbial Physiology/Diversity), emphasizing inquiry-based learning and practical lab skills. His research, supported by a National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant, investigates how bacteria like Escherichia coli respond to glucose-phosphate stress, aiming to understand microbial behavior in the human gut environment. He has mentored over 30 students, all of whom pursued careers in medicine, academia, or scientific fields. Richards is also active in science outreach, delivering talks on microbial ecology and stress responses, including appearances on Wisconsin Public Television.
