Dr. Gregory J. Meyer is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Toledo. His research focuses on personality and neuropsychological assessment, particularly the Rorschach inkblot test and its applications in clinical practice. He emphasizes integrating self-reported characteristics with performance-based measures to understand psychopathology. Meyer is involved in developing and refining the Rorschach Performance Assessment System (R-PAS), aiming to improve validity through meta-analysis and international normative data. His work includes studies on aggression, suicide risk, and the admissibility of Rorschach evidence in legal contexts.
Education: PhD in Psychology from Loyola University of Chicago (1990). Teaching responsibilities include courses on Cognitive Assessment, Quantitative Methods, and Psychometrics. He directs the Psych Assessment Lab and collaborates internationally on projects like the R-PAS manual and cross-cultural validation studies. Meyer has authored over 200 peer-reviewed articles and co-developed assessment tools such as the Rorschach Construct Scale.
Research interests also encompass meta-analysis techniques, clinician judgment reliability, and the validation of psychological instruments like the Personality Assessment Inventory (PAI) and MMPI-2.
