Gregory Beaucage is a Professor in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at the University of Cincinnati. He holds a Ph.D. in Polymer Science and Engineering (University of Massachusetts Amherst) and dual B.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering and Zoology (University of Rhode Island). His research focuses on polymer science, nanotechnology, and scattering techniques, with emphasis on nanocomposite characterization, nanoparticle synthesis, and energy materials. He leads initiatives like NanoPower Africa, advancing sustainable photovoltaics in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Beaucage has secured over 30 grants from agencies like the National Science Foundation and industry partners, totaling millions. Notable roles include Director of NanoPower Africa, Fellow of the American Physical Society, and Founding Member of the LENS Neutron Scattering Facility. His work bridges academia and industry, addressing challenges in materials development and environmental impact.
Research interests span polymer morphology, catalytic materials, and sustainable composites. Recent projects include analyzing nanoparticle release from tires and optimizing silica synthesis via bioinspired methods. He has advised numerous doctoral and master’s students in materials science and engineering.
