Gregory Abel

Gregory Abel, MD, MPH is an outcomes researcher and hematologic oncologist affiliated with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) and Harvard Medical School. He leads the Older Adult Hematologic Malignancy (OHM) geriatric hematology research program and directs DFCI’s Clinical Ethics Service, while also serving as Co-Chair of the DFCI Ethics Advisory Committee.

Research Interests: Dr. Abel specializes in improving care for patients with blood cancers through health services research, focusing on functional outcomes, quality of life, and ethical considerations across the treatment lifecycle. His work bridges oncology, hematology, geriatrics, and bioethics.

Roles and Collaborations: He integrates clinical practice with ethical frameworks, collaborating across disciplines to address challenges in hematologic malignancies and develop interventions from diagnosis to end-of-life care.
