Dr. Gregory A. Jicha is a Professor in the Department of Neurology at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He serves as Director of the Clinical Core of the NIA-funded Alzheimer’s Disease Center and leads the Telemedicine Cognitive Clinic, focusing on extending clinical and research capabilities to rural Kentucky. His academic and clinical work centers on Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders.
Dr. Jicha earned his MD from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed a fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, where he became certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He holds significant leadership roles in national Alzheimer’s initiatives, including Principal Investigator for the National Alzheimer’s Disease Cooperative Study Group and membership on the Clinical Task Force for the NIA Alzheimer’s Disease Center Program.
His research spans mild cognitive impairment, clinicopathological correlations in early-stage Alzheimer’s, and disease-modifying therapies. Dr. Jicha has contributed to educational webcasts on dementia diagnostics, comorbidities, and non-Alzheimer’s dementias, emphasizing clinical education and outreach.
