Gregorio Martinez Perez

Gregorio Martínez Pérez is a Full Professor at the University of Murcia (UMU), affiliated with the Department of Information and Communication Engineering within the Faculty of Informatics. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from UMU (2003) and has been a faculty member since 2014. His research focuses on cybersecurity, distributed network management, 5G networking, and advanced computational models. He leads the Intelligent Systems and Telematics research group and has supervised 12 PhD students.

• 5G/6G Network Security and Management
• Machine Learning Applications in Cybersecurity
• Trust and Reputation Systems

Publications: Over 230 articles, with recent work on neural cybersecurity, federated learning frameworks, and hardware fingerprinting. Notable contributions include papers in ACM Computing Surveys, IEEE Internet of Things Journal, and Computer Networks.

Grants & Projects: Principal Investigator in EU-funded projects like Hexa-X-II (6G networks), DEFENDER (cybersecurity in IoT/5G), and EU-GUARDIAN (AI-driven cyber defense). Collaborates with entities like the European Defence Fund and INCIBE.

Labs/Teams: Co-leads the Cyberdatalab and manages the Intelligent Systems and Telematics research group, actively contributing to cybersecurity innovation and defense technologies.
