Gregor White is a Professor of Applied Creativity and Dean of Design & Informatics at the University of Abertay Dundee, leading the Faculty of Design, Informatics and Business. He has held academic and managerial roles since 2004, overseeing transformative projects in program restructuring, research strategy, and campus development. His research focuses on digital interactive entertainment, participatory design processes, and online audience innovation.
He initiated and secured £40M in funding for collaborative research centers like InGAME (Games), cyberQuarter (Cybersecurity), and The Emergent Technology Centre (AI/ML). Externally, he serves on the AHRC Strategic Review College and co-leads the Creative Economy Hub. Recent roles include Co-Investigator on Design Innovation for New Growth (AHRC) and Principal Investigator on Video Games in the Museum (V&A collaboration).
Gregor supervises PhD students in areas such as play interventions, comic art curation, and independent game development methodologies. He contributes to educational programs at St Andrews University and the European Cross Media Academy.
