Professor Gregor Feiertag is a faculty member at the Munich University of Applied Sciences in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. He serves as Head of the Laboratory for Assembly and Connection Technology and Head of the Laboratory for Reliability and Materials Technology, while also acting as contact person for the Research Master program.
His research expertise spans MEMS microphones, Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) high frequency filters, piezoresistive pressure sensors, reliability of electronic components, and housing technologies for optical sensors. Specialized areas include plasma spraying applications, flip-chip connections, and thermal spraying for electrical systems.
Professor Feiertag leads multiple significant research projects including HuMMeL (investigating RF interference in MEMS microphones with TDK-Electronics), NG-TF-SAW (developing thin film SAW filters with Qualcomm), and the Bumblebee project (2023-2026) focused on high frequency insensitive MEMS microphones. His work bridges academic research with industrial applications through partnerships with major electronics companies.
With more than 50 publications and over 30 patents, his research output focuses primarily on housing technologies for electronic components and microsensors, as evidenced by his patent portfolio related to MEMS packaging, microphone design, and multi-MEMS modules.
