Gregg Macey

Gregg Macey is a Professor and Director of the Center for Land, Environment and Natural Resources at the UC Irvine School of Law. His research spans land use planning, climate policy, environmental data systems, pesticide reform, goods movement equity, and civil rights enforcement.

• Education: J.D. from the University of Virginia, Ph.D. in Urban Planning from MIT

His work focuses on integrating environmental justice into climate action frameworks, with an emphasis on community science and infrastructure equity. He has previously taught at Brooklyn Law School (with tenure), Boston University, MIT, Fordham Law School, and the University of Virginia. Current initiatives include the Integrated and Equitable Climate Action network and the Wildland-Urban Interface Climate Action Network.
