Greg Haase

Greg Haase serves as Professor of Sociology and Department Chair of the Behavioral & Social Sciences Department at Western Colorado University, where he has held faculty positions since completing his doctorate in 1987. His leadership extends across academic administration, program development, and community engagement within the Gunnison Valley.

Significant contributions include securing a $250,000 Department of Education grant to establish WRAP (Western's Responsible Alcohol Partnership), which remains operational today. He served eight years as faculty advisor for the nationally certified Mountain Rescue Team and undertook a comprehensive revision of the Criminal Justice program during a 2000 sabbatical in Florida. His 11-year tenure as Department Chair demonstrates sustained administrative commitment to academic excellence.
