Greg Donofrio serves as Associate Dean of Faculty at the University of Minnesota's College of Design, where he is also an Associate Professor of Architecture and the Heritage Studies & Public History Program. His work bridges historic preservation, public history, and urban planning, focusing on how communities engage with and sustain the historic built environment. He founded the Heritage Studies and Public History Program and held the Fesler–Lampter Chair in Urban and Regional Affairs for 2019-2020.

Notable awards include the American Collegiate Schools of Architecture Diversity Achievement Award (2016), American Association for State and Local History Leadership in History Award (2015), and the APT International Anne de Fort-Menares Award (2013). He has received six Heritage Collaborative Grants (2009-2015) and fellowships from Cornell, Vassar, and the Massachusetts Historical Society.
