Grażyna Stochel

Grażyna Stochel is a Full Professor of Inorganic and Bioinorganic Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry, Jagiellonian University (Poland). She leads the Biomedical Chemistry Laboratory and coordinates the Laser Photolysis Laboratory. Her roles include heading the Coordination and Bioinorganic Physicochemistry Team and serving as Visiting Professor at the University of Orleans (France). She has held prestigious positions such as Alexander von Humboldt Fellowships across Germany and postdoctoral roles in Italy and France.

Her research spans bioinorganic photochemistry, photocatalysis, and environmental chemistry, with over 200 publications (H-index 39) and 17 patents. She has supervised 26 PhD and 40+ MSc students, led 35 research projects, and co-founded the subdiscipline of Bioinorganic Photochemistry. Awards include membership in the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Jagiellonian Laurel, and multiple Humboldt fellowships.
