Dr. Grant Wangila serves as Interim Dean of the School of Arts & Sciences and Professor of Chemistry at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB), where he oversees academic programs, faculty development, and strategic initiatives for student success across a 20+ year career.
His educational background includes:
- Ph.D. in Chemistry (University of Alberta, Canada)
- M.S. and B.Ed. in Science (Kenyatta University, Kenya)
Research spans materials science, analytical chemistry, and STEM education with emphasis on instrumental analysis and chemical separation methodologies. His work drives innovations in analytical chemistry education and materials characterization techniques.
As a grant-secured leader, he mentored numerous undergraduate/graduate students now thriving in academia and industry. His strategic vision enabled launch of new bachelor's degrees in Cybersecurity, Nanoscience, Engineering (Construction Project Management/Industrial Manufacturing), and Theatre reactivation.
