Grant Dorsey

Grant Dorsey, MD, MPH, PhD, is a Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine. His work focuses on clinical and molecular studies of malaria, including drug therapy, antimalarial drug resistance, and public health interventions. Since 1998, his research has involved over two dozen clinical trials across Uganda and Burkina Faso, evaluating treatment regimens and molecular markers of resistance. He leads a multidisciplinary team investigating malaria in pregnancy, HIV-malaria co-infections, and chemoprevention strategies. His work includes operational research on malaria surveillance and integrated health programs with the Uganda Ministry of Health.
