Dr Graham Wood is a Professor of Environmental Assessment and Management at the School of the Built Environment, Oxford Brookes University. He holds a BA (Cantab) and PhD, specializing in environmental decision-making, GIS applications, and impact assessment methodologies. He coordinates the MSc Environmental Impact Assessment and Management program and teaches modules on GIS, spatial analysis, and sustainability. His research focuses on improving environmental assessment practices, particularly through technological integration and policy analysis.
Dr Wood has extensive grant-funded research experience, including projects supported by the ESRC, NERC, DEFRA, and the European Commission. Notable projects include developing GIS tools for habitat surveys (2013-2015), auditing EIA procedures (2002-2004), and evaluating social sustainability in urban renewal (2006-2008). He has supervised over 70 MSc dissertations and co-authored influential books like *Methods of Environmental and Social Impact Assessment* (2017).
Professional memberships include the ESRC Peer Review College and roles as an expert assessor for international research councils. His work bridges academic research and practical application, emphasizing methodological innovation in environmental planning and decision-making processes.
