Graham Parr is a Professor of English and International Education in the School of Curriculum, Teaching & Inclusive Education at Monash University’s Faculty of Education. He is a Foundation Fellow of the Monash Education Academy and has held leadership roles including Associate Dean, International (2018–2022). His academic journey began with a BA (Hons) from the University of Melbourne, followed by teaching in Victoria and the USA, before joining higher education at the University of Melbourne and then Monash University in 2003.
Research Interests: His work centers on English language, literature, and literacy education, with a strong focus on teacher professional learning, narrative methodologies, creativity, and international professional experience in initial teacher education. He explores how dialogic and decolonizing practices shape identity and praxis in educational contexts.
His recent publications reflect a consistent engagement with teacher identity, international practicum experiences, academic writing, and sustainability in the English teaching profession. Themes across his articles include decolonizing agendas, dialogic writing, cross-cultural mentorship, and global engagement in teacher education.

Advising and Grants: He has supervised numerous graduate research projects and led multiple externally funded research initiatives, including international professional learning programs for Zhejiang principals, curriculum analysis for international development education, and support for Australian schools’ global engagement. His leadership in the International Professional Experience Program has been nationally recognized.
Labs and Teams: Graham Parr is actively involved in professional learning communities and international research collaborations, particularly with partners in China and the Pacific. He contributes to national and international conferences and is a key figure in the Monash Education Academy and Faculty of Education research networks.
