Graham Easton is a General Practitioner (GP) and Professor of Medical Education and Clinical Communication Skills at Queen Mary University of London. His 20+ years of work focuses on integrating the patient voice into medical education, promoting person-centred primary healthcare, and enhancing empathic communication.
His expertise spans narrative pedagogy, simulated patient training, and team-based learning methodologies. He has led faculty development projects globally in Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Kuwait, Mauritius, Iraq, and China, emphasizing skilled feedback and communication strategies.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, he created the ClinComm podcast (40,000+ impressions, 56 countries) to address clinical communication challenges and co-developed an e-module for vaccine hesitancy discussions using motivational interviewing. His book The Appointment – what your doctor really thinks during your 10-minute consultation has influenced medical education and inspired the Royal College of GPs’ Observe GP project.
