Dr. Graham Collier is an Assistant Professor in the School of Polymer Science and Engineering at the University of Southern Mississippi. He earned his PhD in Chemistry (Polymer Chemistry concentration) from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville in 2017 and holds a BS from UNC Wilmington (2011) and an MS from UNC Charlotte (2013). Before joining USM in 2024, he was a faculty member at Kennesaw State University and a postdoc at Georgia Tech.
His research focuses on polymer chemistry and organic electronics, particularly conjugated polymers for electrochromism, optoelectronics, and degradable materials. Key innovations include pyrrolopyrrole-based monomers for color-tunable devices and sustainable synthetic methods for organic semiconductors.
Recent publications explore electrochromic materials with controllable color properties, degradation mechanisms in conjugated systems, and simplified synthesis routes for high-performance polymers. His work emphasizes structure-property relationships in donor-acceptor copolymers.
Current projects investigate azomethine-containing polymers for environmentally friendly electronics and methods to enhance photostability in dioxythiophene systems.
