Grace Helton is Assistant Professor of Philosophy and R.R. Laidlaw University Preceptor at Princeton University. Her research integrates philosophy with cognitive science, focusing on epistemology, perception, emotion, and consciousness. She investigates how mental states like beliefs and emotions shape human cognition.
Recent work examines perceptual experience, skepticism, and the nature of belief. Helton's approach connects philosophical analysis with empirical insights from psychology and neuroscience. She is writing a book on emotion theory.
Helton will join the University of Rochester Philosophy Department in 2025. Her teaching includes courses on philosophy of mind, epistemology, and cognitive science.
