Govindan Parayil

Govindan Parayil is a Professor and Dean at the Patel College of Global Sustainability, University of South Florida. He also holds a Professorial position at the School of Interdisciplinary Global Studies. His academic career spans roles as Vice-Rector at the United Nations University and Director of its Institute of Advanced Studies. He has taught at institutions like the University of Oslo and National University of Singapore. Parayil’s research focuses on global sustainability, technology’s societal impact, and innovation systems in developing economies. He has authored over 30 books and numerous articles, including works on nanotechnology, climate policy, and the Kerala development model. His awards include the Sigma Xi Dissertation Prize and Rockefeller Foundation Fellowships.
