Govind Sreenivasan is an Associate Professor of History at Brandeis University, specializing in the social history of early modern Europe (c. 1450 to c. 1750). His research adopts a comparative perspective with Indo-Islamic and East Asian civilizations, focusing on rural Germany, particularly the role of criminal and civil legal institutions in peasant daily life.
