Prof. Dr. Gottfried Vossen is a Professor and Chair of Business Information Systems at the University of Münster (WWU). He holds a habilitation and doctorate from RWTH Aachen University. His roles include Director of the European Research Center for Information Systems (ERCIS) until December 2023, and Honorary Professor at the University of Waikato, New Zealand. He is a Fellow of the German Informatics Society (GI) and a member of numerous editorial boards and professional organizations.
His research focuses on business process modeling, cloud computing, databases, and Big Data applications. Notable projects include the ERCIS Omni-Channel Lab and Big Data Laboratory. He has authored over 200 publications and received awards such as the Best Paper Award at CBI 2019 and the Women's Advancement Award (2005).
Current affiliations include the Institute for Information Systems and the Münster School of Business and Economics. His teaching spans advanced courses on business modeling, entrepreneurship, and data analytics.
