Goren Gordon is a Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at the Iby and Aladar Fleischman Faculty of Engineering, Tel Aviv University. He heads the Curiosity Lab where he conducts interdisciplinary research bridging computational models of curiosity with educational robotics.
His research focuses on:
- Development of artificial curiosity algorithms
- Implementation of curiosity models in social robots
- Model-based curiosity assessment tools
- Social robots for promoting 21st century skills in children
- Quantum Computer Games development
Gordon possesses an exceptional academic background with six degrees: BA, MSc and PhD in Quantum Physics; BMSc, MBA and PhD in Neurobiology. He completed his postdoc at MIT Media Lab's Personal Robots Group and holds a teaching certificate from MIT. His office is located in Wolfson Engineering Building (room 410) at Tel Aviv University.
His laboratory work demonstrates how computational models of curiosity can be practically applied in educational settings through social robotics, creating innovative approaches to assessing and nurturing children's natural curiosity. Gordon's unique combination of expertise in quantum physics, neurobiology, and engineering enables him to approach problems from multiple disciplinary perspectives.
