Gopesh Anand

Gopesh Anand is a Professor of Business Administration and Area Chair for the Information, Operations, Supply Chain, and Analytics (IOSA) department at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign's Gies College of Business. He holds the William N. Scheffel Faculty Scholar title and has served in academic leadership roles since 2006, including Academic Director of Operations Management (2018–2020) and Associate/Professor ranks. His research focuses on operations strategy, continuous improvement, and healthcare/supply chain systems.

Education: PhD in Operations Management (The Ohio State University, 2006), MBA (The Ohio State University, 1992).

Research Interests
His work explores process improvement methodologies, organizational learning, and the application of operations principles in healthcare and pharmaceutical industries. Notable contributions include studying failure analysis in organizational learning, lean practices' role in dynamic capabilities, and FDA inspection impacts on pharmaceutical quality.

Teaching & Service
Teaches Operations Management (BADM 567) and Business Process Improvement (BADM 379). Serves as Associate Editor for International Journal of Operations & Production Management and co-editor of special issues on pharmaceutical supply chains. Recognized as an excellent teacher (UIUC, 2006–present).
