Gopal Sreenivasan is the Crown University Distinguished Professor in Ethics and a Professor of Philosophy at Duke University's Trinity College of Arts & Sciences. He holds additional affiliations in Medicine, General Internal Medicine, the Trent Center for Bioethics, Humanities & History of Medicine, and the Duke Initiative for Science & Society. His research focuses on moral and political philosophy, with emphasis on virtue theory, bioethics, and rights-based frameworks.
Education: PhD in Philosophy (1993, UC Berkeley), BPhil (1988, Oxford), BA (Hons., 1986, McGill University). His work bridges ethical theory and practical issues, including health policy, legal philosophy, and global justice. Notable publications include *Emotion and Virtue* (2020), examining the role of emotion in virtue ethics.
