Dr. Gonzalo Arce is the Charles Black Evans Professor and JPMorgan-Chase Senior Faculty Fellow at the University of Delaware. His research spans computational imaging, signal processing on graphs, and machine learning, with applications in biomedicine, Earth science, and lithography. He leads interdisciplinary projects in computational compressive lidar, spectral tomography, and hypergraph neural networks, collaborating globally with institutions in Finland, China, and beyond. Dr. Arce has held the Nokia-Fulbright Distinguished Chair and is a Fellow of IEEE, SPIE, and the National Academy of Inventors.
His research focuses on advancing imaging technologies through compressive sensing, generative AI, and hypergraph structures. Notable contributions include SpectralCam (low-cost spectral imaging) and super-resolution techniques for satellite LiDAR. He advises on patent litigation involving signal/image processing and QR codes. With over 800 publications and 30 patents, he actively contributes to the Data Science Institute and IFSAN at UD.
