Gloria Novović

Dr. Gloria Novović is an LSE Fellow in the Department of Gender Studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). She holds a PhD in Political Science and International Development from the University of Guelph (Canada). Her research focuses on critical policy studies, decolonial feminist thought, and the restructuring of global governance architectures. She is currently writing a book manuscript on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (Agenda 2030), examining its limitations and feminist responses to global development frameworks.

Her work explores how gender equality coalitions in Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda engage with Agenda 2030, highlighting the failure of high-income nations to support a global tax mechanism for funding SDGs. She also leads a project on 'Feminist Planetary Solidarity,' advocating for ontological shifts toward planetary justice through decolonial historical materialism and Indigenous cosmologies. This project includes a co-convened special issue in the International Feminist Journal of Politics with Professor Shirin M. Rai.

Novović’s expertise spans academic and practitioner roles, including postdoctoral work at the University of Ottawa and experience with the United Nations’ World Food Programme and Serbian civil society. She contributes to policy research, training, and advisory roles in multilateral and civil society contexts. Her work is supported by grants from the IDRC, SSHRC, and others.

She serves on the executive committee of the Canadian Association for Studies of International Development (CASID) and participates in its Decolonizing Development Syllabus Working Group. Her language proficiency includes English, French, Italian, and Serbo-Croatian.
