The University of Manchesterمعرفی
Dr. Gloria Lopez-Castejon is a Senior Lecturer in the Division of Immunology, Immunity to Infection and Respiratory Medicine at the University of Manchester. She holds a BSc in Biochemistry and a PhD in Immunology from the University of Murcia (Spain). Her research focuses on molecular mechanisms governing inflammasome activation and novel functions of pyroptosis. Key contributions include investigations into deubiquitinases' roles in inflammation and the impact of danger signals on immune responses.
Research Interests: Molecular mechanisms of inflammation, inflammasome regulation, macrophage biology, and deubiquitinases. Her work addresses chronic inflammatory diseases like atherosclerosis and arthritis, aiming to develop anti-inflammatory therapies. She leads a lab welcoming researchers at all career stages.
Awards: Wellcome Trust Sir Henry Dale Fellowship (2015), MCCIR Prize Postdoctoral Fellowship (2013).
Recent articles explore inflammasome activation pathways, pyroptosis effects on centrosomal integrity, and interferon regulation of cytokines. Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and well-being (SDG 3).
