Gloria Håkansson serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Special Education within Kristianstad University's Faculty of Education. She holds the status of Merited teacher and actively participates in university governance as a member of the University Board (Högskolestyrelsen), while also representing academic staff as Chair of SACO-S and SULF trade unions.
Her research centers on special education with emphasis on relational pedagogy and language/literature education. Through the Learning in Language and Literature (LiLL) research group, she investigates how interpersonal relationships shape educational outcomes for students with special needs, promoting inclusive classroom dynamics and teacher-student connection as foundational elements in special education practice.
As Health and Safety representative and Vice Chief Occupational Safety Representative (Vice huvudskyddsombud), she demonstrates cross-functional engagement beyond academia. Her work with the Subject Group for Special Education (Ämnesgruppen för Specialpedagogik) further establishes her as a key contributor to special education policy development and pedagogical innovation within the university community.
