معرفی
Professor Glen Lichtwark is Head of the School of Exercise & Nutrition Sciences at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Previously, he held roles at the University of Queensland (2010-2023), Griffith University (2006-2009), and Imperial College London / Royal Veterinary College (2005). He is an ARC Future Fellow (2020-2024) and former Peter Doherty Fellow (2007-2010). His research focuses on skeletal muscle structure and function across scales—from cellular mechanisms to neural control—applying to human performance, aging, and neuro-musculoskeletal conditions like cerebral palsy. Key achievements include developing tools for predicting human movement energetics and musculoskeletal modeling. He teaches biomechanics, coordinates Honours programs, and advocates for blended learning and industry collaboration in sports and health technology.
Research interests span biomechanics of movement, muscle energetics, foot biomechanics, tendon adaptation, and medical imaging techniques. Awards include the ISB World Athletics Award (2021), ARC Future Fellowship (2020), and ANZ Society of Biomechanics Publication Award (2018). He serves on editorial boards and professional committees, including the International Society of Biomechanics (ISB) council (2015-2021). Current projects include predicting human movement energetics and validating musculoskeletal models for hopping tasks.
Industry partnerships include collaborations with Cricket Australia, Australian Sports Commission, and Cerebral Palsy Alliance. Teaching contributions emphasize blended learning platforms and student-industry engagement. Supervision opportunities are available for Honours, Masters, and PhD students in sports science, biomechanics, and rehabilitation engineering.
