Giulio Grossi is a Researcher in Statistics at the University of Florence, affiliated with the Department of Sciences for Economics and Business. He specializes in causal inference under complex conditions such as spatial and network contexts, Bayesian methods, and environmental perceptions.
- Education: PhD in Statistics (advised by Prof. Alessandra Mattei).
His research focuses on developing advanced statistical tools like Synthetic Control Method and Matrix Completion estimators for longitudinal, spatial, and observational data. He works on disentangling drivers of climate change awareness and its relation to natural disasters within the SPARKLING project, and explores Bayesian methods for clinical trials in the BayesMeCOS project.
He has collaborated with institutions including IRPET (Istituto Regionale per la Programmazione Economica Toscana), CINTURS in Faro, and NSAPH (Harvard Biostat). His work intersects econometrics, causal inference, and applied machine learning.
- Current Projects:
- SPARKLING: Spatio-temporal causal inference for climate change awareness.
- BayesMeCOS: Bayesian methods in clinical and observational trials.
