Giulia Caruso

Giulia Caruso is a Researcher at the Department of Political and Social Sciences, University of Catania, Italy. She is currently conducting a predoctoral research stay at ADHUC—Centre de Recerca Teoria, Gènere, Sexualitat / UNESCO Chair Women, Development and Culture at Universitat de Barcelona, from August 1, 2025, to August 7, 2025.

• Research Focus: Her work bridges Gender History and Critical Feminist Theory, examining how inclusivity and gender approaches shape institutional and political language. Her doctoral research traces semantic transformations from the publicity of partisan women in Italy to the political language of Constituent women, culminating in new feminine subjectivizations. She analyzes feminist movements of the 1970s and the evolution of Family Law through linguistic frameworks.
