مدرس ارشد · Strongly correlated electron systems
Royal Holloway, University of Londonمعرفی
Giovanni Sordi is a Senior Lecturer in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics at the Department of Physics, Royal Holloway, University of London. His research focuses on strongly correlated electron systems and phase transitions, including metal-insulator transitions, magnetic phase transitions, complex oxides, heavy fermions, high Tc superconductors, and non-Fermi liquids. He holds a PhD in Physics from Université Paris-Sud (2008) and prior postdoctoral positions at Institut Laue-Langevin (France, 2010-2013) and the University of Sherbrooke (Canada, 2008-2010).
His recent work explores theoretical models such as the Emery model and Hubbard model, investigating superconductivity, phase diagrams, and anomalous phenomena like Widom lines in QCD. Key contributions include studies on charge transfer insulators, pseudogap behavior in cuprates, and information-theoretic measures of quantum phases.
He has presented at major conferences including the American Physical Society March Meetings (2021-2022) and the Italian Physical Society Congress (2021). His research collaborations span international institutions, reflecting his global academic engagement.
