Giovanni Finocchio

Giovanni Finocchio is an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Messina and an IEEE Senior Member. He received his degree in Electronic Engineering in 2001 and a PhD in Electromagnetic Modeling in 2005.

• Research Interests: Micromagnetic modeling, Spintronics, Computing, and Skyrmionics.
• Affiliations: Chair of the Italy Chapter of the IEEE Magnetics Society (2020–present), President of Petaspin Association, Chair of TC-16 IEEE Nanotechnology Council, and AdCom member of the IEEE Magnetics Society (2020–present).
• Leadership: Organized over 10 international conferences and workshops, served on editorial boards (e.g., IEEE Magnetics Letters), and coordinated more than 100 virtual seminars during the pandemic.

In 2021, the Italy Chapter of the IEEE Magnetics Society, under his leadership, was recognized as the best Italian chapter. He is a Principal Investigator (PI) for multiple grants and actively contributes to global magnetism research initiatives.
