Giovanna Iannantuoni serves as Professor of Political Economy and Rector of the University of Milan-Bicocca since October 2019. Her institutional affiliations include:

She holds a DES in Economic and Social Sciences from Bocconi University and a PhD in Economics from Louvain la Neuve University (2001), with academic experience at Rochester University, Carlos III de Madrid, and the University of Cambridge.
Her research centers on game-theoretic solution concepts applied to political economy and electoral systems, examining strategic decision-making frameworks within microeconomic contexts. This work bridges theoretical models with practical political mechanisms, establishing her expertise in institutional analysis.
Scientific recognition includes:

- Trinity Hall Fellowship
Administrative leadership encompasses Coordinator of the Doctoral Program in Economics (until 2015) and President of the Doctoral School (2015-2019), alongside securing research grants from PRIN and Cariplo foundations. She has published over 25 papers in top economics journals and presented at international conferences.
Through CORIMAV, she directs collaborative research on advanced materials between the university and Pirelli, driving innovation in materials science infrastructure.
