Giota Alevizou is a Lecturer in Digital Humanities and Culture at King's College London's Department of Digital Humanities. Her research explores how technologies shape paradigms of collaborative intelligence, with focus on digital citizenship, media epistemologies, and urban placemaking. She holds a Ph.D. in Media & Cultural Studies from Sussex University, M.A. from University of Stirling, and B.A. from Greece.
Research examines:

- Digital activism and biocitizenship formations
- Smart city technologies and civic engagement
- Encyclopedia evolution in digital age
Dr. Alevizou leads the 'Outsmarted' project exploring youth perspectives on digital learning cities, supported by the Digital Futures Institute and Centre for Digital Culture. Her publications analyze the intersections of digital culture, media epistemologies, and civic participation.
Awards include:

She previously held positions at The Open University and London School of Economics.
