Giorgia Santarelli is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine of Companion Animals at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Utrecht University. She specializes in veterinary cardiology and chemotherapy-related complications in canine patients.
Her research focuses on:
- Risk factors for doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity in dogs
- Personalized chemotherapy dosing strategies
- Pharmacokinetics of veterinary oncology drugs
She contributes to teaching in the Veterinary Professional courses (levels 2 and 3) and collaborates on clinical research projects. Current projects include validation of blood doxorubicin measurement methods and analysis of breed/weight/liver function impacts.
