Ginnie L. Abarbanell

Ginnie L. Abarbanell, MD serves as Division Chief of Pediatric Cardiology and Clinical Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where she also practices at the University Congenital Center.

She maintains active collaborations with the CDC in public health research and currently serves as Treasurer of the Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Outcomes Collaborative (CNOC), driving advancements in neurodevelopmental outcomes for cardiac patients.

With prior clinical experience in Indianapolis, Atlanta, and St. Louis, she leads the Pediatric Heart Center team at UT Health San Antonio alongside her husband Dr. Aaron Abarbanell, Chief of Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery, forming a specialized congenital heart disease care partnership.
