Dr. Ginette Alomar Eldredge is a Lecturer in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Maryland, College Park. Her research focuses on the representation of women in medieval Iberian literature and transatlantic studies, blending feminist scholarship with literary and historical analysis of medieval medical texts. She earned her Ph.D. in Medieval Spain from the University of Maryland (2017), following a B.A. (Magna Cum Laude) and M.A. (Summa Cum Laude) in Spanish Studies from the University of Puerto Rico. She has directed study abroad programs in Seville and Galicia, and her work has been supported by the International Graduate Research Fellowship and multiple SLLC Travel Awards.

Her research interests include medieval Spanish literature, feminist analysis of lovesickness narratives, and colonial-era Peruvian women writers. She is preparing to publish her dissertation on 'Desire and shame: women and lovesickness in Juan de Flores' Grisel y Mirabella,' and plans to edit the works of Juan de Segura, the author of the last known sentimental novel.
Dr. Eldredge has published a book review in eHumanista and contributed to projects under the mentorship of scholars like Dr. Ángel Gómez Moreno in Madrid. She also leads academic programs such as the Spring Break Program to El Camino de Santiago.
