Gina Presson

Gina Presson is a Lecturer at the University of Miami, joining in Fall 2019. She teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in Broadcast Journalism, Electronic Media, and Digital Writing, while co-leading the 'Global Communication: London Summer' study abroad program.

• Education: Duke University (B.A. in Public Policy Studies & Communication) and USC Annenberg (M.A. in Specialized Journalism)

Her work focuses on long-form storytelling, social issues, and environmental journalism. She co-created award-winning shows like 'PrimeTime' and 'Flashpoint Florida,' emphasizing student-led production and community engagement.

Presson previously worked as a journalist for WEDU-TV, Public News Service, and founded Presson Perspectives and MedForum, the first health news websites. She mentors students through UMTV's award-winning productions and serves on the Suncoast Academy of Television Arts and Sciences board.
