Gina Genova

Gina Genova is a Senior Continuing Lecturer at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), serving as the senior co-director of the Business Communication track in the Professional Writing Minor. She teaches courses such as the winter capstone on client communication (WRIT 157A), the spring internship course (WRIT 150), and Advanced Writing for Public Speaking (WRIT 162). Her teaching portfolio also includes Legal Writing (107L), Business and Administrative Writing (107B), and First Year Exploration seminars on Legal Practice and Law Enforcement. She advises law-oriented student organizations including Mock Trial, Moot Court, Pre-law Society, and the Undergraduate Law Journal.

With a 22-year background in business litigation, her research focuses on collaborative work in business environments, workplace law, and the intersection of laws with organizational practices. She is a member of the Public Speaking Initiative and an active presenter at the Association for Business Communication conferences, contributing to its Business Practices Committee for nearly two decades.

Her publications explore topics such as remote work liability, workplace culture, crisis communication in international agencies, and legal writing methodologies. She maintains a strong commitment to legal education and professional communication, reflected in her interdisciplinary approach to teaching and research.
