Gillian Peskett

Gillian Peskett is a Lecturer in the Department of Architecture & Civil Engineering at the University of Bath, Faculty of Engineering & Design. She is a chartered architect with extensive professional experience in residential and urban conservation projects, having founded her own London-based practice in 2013. Her work bridges architectural practice and academic teaching, with a focus on sustainable and context-sensitive design.

Her teaching interests include contextual responses to urban housing regeneration and fostering hands-on design analysis skills. She has developed and delivered workshop-based modules such as 'Tools for Designing' and 'Crafting Architecture', and has been an External Design Tutor and Design Studio Leader at several UK universities since 2015. She also contributes annually to Newcastle’s 'Architect in Practice' lecture series.

Gillian's expertise supports the UN Sustainable Development Goal for Sustainable Cities and Communities. Her professional work integrates environmental analysis and early-stage building performance modeling, notably through her involvement in the BSF school building programme and the award-winning Three Ways SEN School project in Bath, where she introduced Ecotect software for performance simulation.

She graduated with first-class honours from the Welsh School of Architecture in 2004 and completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Practice (Part III) with distinction, becoming a RIBA chartered member in 2009. Prior to academia, she worked with award-winning firms in Canada, South Wales, and London, and served as a Technical Advisor at B3 Architects.
