Gilles Gignac is an Associate Professor in the School of Psychological Science at The University of Western Australia. He has held roles such as Deputy Head of School (2023-2023), Director of Undergraduate Programs (2020-2022), and Acting Chair of the Board of Studies (Life, Health and Natural Sciences, 2022). He currently coordinates PSYC3302 and lectures in PSYC4418. He regularly supervises 3 Honours students annually.
Education:

- Master’s in Psychology (Psychometrics focus, University of Western Ontario)
- PhD in Psychology (Swinburne University of Technology)
Research Interests: His work focuses on individual psychological differences, psychometric approaches to measuring abilities (especially financial literacy), meta-cognition, narcissism, and human-AI intelligence parallels. Key areas include financial well-being disparities, cognitive metrics, and AI ethics in research attribution.
Recent Research Trends: His articles explore topics like psychometric benchmarks for AI comparisons, narcissism measurement in children, and the statistical underpinnings of intelligence research. Themes include bridging human and artificial intelligence frameworks, validating psychological scales, and analyzing cognitive biases.
Grants & Projects: He contributed to ARC-funded studies on autism traits, banking contracts, and cognitive memory links. His editorial roles include Associate Editor for Journal of Personality and Editorial Board Consultant for Intelligence.
