Gill Tsouri

Gill Tsouri is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Microelectronic Engineering at the Kate Gleason College of Engineering, Rochester Institute of Technology. Holding a B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. from Ben-Gurion University in Israel, he has established himself as a leading researcher in biomedical signal processing and wireless body area networks.

Dr. Tsouri's research focuses on non-contact physiological monitoring using video technology, particularly for cardiac applications. His work spans video-based detection of atrial fibrillation, heart rate monitoring through facial analysis, and the development of innovative medical device security protocols. He has pioneered methods for opportunistic plethysmography using standard video cameras, enabling smartphones and personal computers to function as medical monitoring devices without specialized hardware.
