Gilberto Brambilla

Professor Gilberto Brambilla serves as Associate Dean International at the University of Southampton's Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences, where he leads research within the Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC). With extensive expertise in optical fibre technologies, his work bridges fundamental photonics research with practical applications in sensing, manufacturing, and infrastructure monitoring.

His research interests span multiple cutting-edge areas of photonics and optical engineering, with particular focus on:
