Gil Damian is an Associate Professor and Deputy Laboratory Manager at the Department of Building Materials Engineering and Geoengineering, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Lublin University of Technology. He oversees multiple laboratories including Building Structures, Renovation and Conservation of Monuments, Road Engineering, Geodesy, and Building Materials with Concrete Technology.
His research focuses on concrete technology, particularly the use of fly ash and silica fume additives to enhance fracture toughness and durability. He investigates interfacial transition zones, microcrack propagation, and environmental impacts of concrete materials.
His publications examine the synergy between siliceous fly ash and silica fume in cementitious composites, radiation safety of concrete, and sustainable material substitutions. All 9 available publications from 2016-2021 emphasize material optimization and mechanical properties.
He has participated in EU-funded projects like PL2022 - Integrated Development Program for Lublin University of Technology under the Operational Programme Knowledge Education Development 2014-2020.
