Gianluca Quarta is a Full Professor (SSD Fis/07: Applied Physics to Cultural Heritage, Environment, Biology, and Medicine) at the Department of Mathematics and Physics 'Ennio De Giorgi' of the University of Salento. He graduated from 'C. De Giorgi' State Scientific High School in Lecce (1993) and earned his PhD in Materials Engineering from the University of Lecce in 2004 with a thesis on accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) radiocarbon dating.
